Being a Vallejo "Hoggie"

Do you like going on rides on your bike and would love to go with a group? Are you shy or unsure of joining? We welcome all people. We grow on you. The best way is to become a member, attend the meetings, and come on a lot of our rides. How many miles to put on your bike in a year: 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, or 10,000? Being a Vallejo Hoggie entitles you to go on rides with interesting destinations. We have dinner rides, B.B. & C. (Brown Bag and Chrome) rides and sometimes just riding for the sheer joy of riding... There are usually several "Target Rides" (to earn your Road Raider Wings or Rockers). We have gone to Point Reyes Lighthouse and walked up and down the 360 steps and then to the beach for lunch; gone to Tilden Park, Lake Sonoma, Cache Creek Casino, the Delta (Hog Back Island), Tomales Bay, and many other interesting places. Dinner rides go all over the area; to Vacaville, Pinole, Napa, and other places. We participate in the Vallejo 4th of July Parade. We have two "Main Events" which are open to other HOG Chapters. We have a Vernal Equinox Run in March with the run ending in the town of Winters. Our Main Fundraiser (with the proceeds going to a reputable Charity) is held in July.

Our rides usually start at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Vallejo at 1600 Sonoma Blvd. in Vallejo. We meet, have coffee, have a riders meeting, and then we leave. There are so many back roads that we are not always on the freeway. Our Road Captains lead us on some very interesting and scenic rides. On the road you can see elk, deer, ostriches, llamas, turkeys and the usual cows, horses, sheep, and goats. The scenery is beautiful in the Spring and Summer and interesting in the Fall and Winter. We ride all year (weather permitting). Have you ever ridden past tall grass fields with sheep or cows and have them stampede away from our noisy bikes? It is awesome. We have seen geese flying overhead in formation too.

We also attend other H.O.G. Chapter Events; Chico, Auburn, Fremont, Jamestown, Cotati, Walnut Creek, Vacaville, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Oakland, San Jose, Stockton, just to name a few! Almost all of these Chapter events are charity runs; benefitting that Chapter's chosen charity.

Does all of this interest you? Then contact one of the officers listed here or join us at one of our monthly meetings - come up and say "hello". We are here for you!
